About Us

Housing Assistance Corporation began as an offshoot of a home repair ministry at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  Over time the agency services have been expanded to include development of both affordable single-family homes and multi-family rental communities.  Additionally, home buyer education and home ownership counseling programs offer Henderson County residents a step ahead when it comes to what it takes to successfully own a home.

Since 1988 the agency has built or renovated 117 homes and has developed 7 apartment communities with 206 affordable rental apartments.  Housing has also been developed to serve people in special circumstances who struggle most to find decent, affordable housing.  Some examples include independent living facilities for people with developmental and physical disabilities, victims of domestic violence, migrant workers, and senior citizens.
